Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner are back to once again challange what we believe we know about economics, business, philanthropy, politics, and society in general with their latest novel Think Like A Freak: The Authors of Freakonomics Offer to Retrain Your Brain. Levitt and Dubner set out to teach us how to think more creatively and more rationally in order to better solve problems. In order to do this you need to go back to thinking like a child and start admitting when you don’t know the answer so that you can discover the answer. Of course this is just the beginning to retraining your brain.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of their books, and this one was no exception. Levitt and Dubner are fantastic at showing you why to change as well as how to change. They take complex ideas and put them into terms that any “normal” person can read and understand. The authors keep the pace of the book moving right along so it never feels like a text book or dry subject. If you are just itching to know more about why people do and think like they do, then grab one of their books.
