Novmeber Theme:  The End to a Trilogy

If I Should Die by Amy Plum

Boundless by Cynthia Hand

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

Cynthia Hand’s Unearthly trilogy had me drawn in from the very beginning.  Angels are the main characters…teen angels.  In Boundless, book three, we pick up with Clara attending Stanford with her partial-angel friends close-by, all of whom were drawn there to discover their Purpose.  This is not so much a coincidence as their lives are so intertwined with Clara’s.  Soon we find out what their purpose is and watch as Clara develops her powers  and learns to control her Glory. This comes in handy when they find themselves in Hell and need to find their way back.  An impossible task that has never been done. At the same time, Clara is trying to forget the boy she left behind…Tucker.  Not so easy to do.  I love Hand’s writing.  Her characters come to life and the settings are so well written, you are transported to those places so effortlessly. I was entranced.
